The island of Korcula:

The island of Korcula is situated in Croatia, Dalmatia and it is one of 5 the most beautiful islands in the world.
There are many forests on the island. The highest peak is Klupca ( 596 m ) on the eastern side and Hum ( 508 m ) on west side of the island.
In the west coast of the island is great port of Vela Luka and the little island of Prozid.
The distance from the island of Pelješac is about 1270 m. 49 miles far away is Dubrovnik, 57 nautical miles is Split , 250 nautical miles is Venice.
On the island of Korcula thereare little towns: Korcula, Racisce, Zrnovo , Pupnat , Cara , Smokvica , Blato and Vela Luka with 17.378 citizens.
The most iportant is tourism, industry and agrar economy. The most famous wine are Posip and Grk.
In this island was born Marko Polo and also the island has many cultural importances. You will find hear the best fish, olive oil and the best wines also.
